Board leadership in effective IT governance / Valdybos lyderystė efektyvios IT valdysenos srityje

Meeting of the Baltic non-executive Board members

Every single company has IT and every single company must use it for the long-term benefit of its business by making the related processes more effective and by reducing associated risks. As IT-related decisions are often very substantial, they are (or should be) taken on the Board level. That is why it is essential for the Boards to acquire considerable knowledge in IT-related matters.

IT strategy and usage of technology in company innovation process + Q&A,

Rinalds Sluckis, CEO, Digital Mind

Innovations against planned strategic initiatives, the right balance. Today, virtually nothing happens without the use of a more or less sophisticated technology, so when assessing the sustainability and resilience of a business, Boards should have a forward-looking view of how the company will change and how the technology will be used in that change. This discussion could be a part of the strategy development process, but the deliberate inclusion of the theme ‘innovation pipeline’ in the regular agenda will significantly strengthen leadership, address this issue systematically and provide resources.

16:10
Managing investment in IT change to maximise value for business + Q&A,

Audrius Cesiulis, Head of Delivery, Technology, Luminor

Human resources in IT are becoming more expensive, technologies are (supposedly) more accessible, while the life cycle of technologies is shrinking and their impact on competitiveness is increasing. In such circumstances, how can the Board be convinced that the company is sufficiently competitive in the field of IT solutions, while not overpaying for unnecessary capacity? What is IT budget and investment plan?  IT outsource vs insource. How to balance development of in-house IT talent and attraction of external service providers? Demand for quality service / in-house talent is growing faster than available resources, so companies need to have internal and external capacities to support development projects in the medium and long term.
